Heavy Metal Testing

Baughman and Associates offers heavy metal screen testing with a simple office test. Heavy metal removal is a good idea to avoid an increase in free radical production and decline of overall health.

Though elements including copper, zinc, and iron are required by the body they become toxic at high levels. Elements such as lead, mercury, cadmium and arsenic have no known benefits. Heavy metal cleansing can greatly improve your health as the accumulation of these elements over time can cause serious illness.

I routinely check all firemen and anyone with a history of exposure.

Our environment is toxic. We are exposed through the air we breathe, the food that we eat, what we apply to our skin, the water we drink, and even the amalgam, a material used in tooth fillings that is a mixture of mercury with at least one other metal, in our fillings.

The heavy metal load is our body is being constantly increased to the extent that, although not acutely toxic, it will contribute to a decline of our overall health.

Metal toxins have been linked to a long list of diseases and health concerns:

  • Alzheimer’s
  • Depression
  • Weight Gain
  • High Cholesterol
  • Allergies
  • Diabetes
  • Heart Disease
  • Auto-immune Diseases
  • Cancer

A simple office test can be performed on the urine to detect metal ions. In a healthy body there should be no free heavy metal ions in the body. If positive, a more sophisticated test is performed and then treatment can clear the body.

The test is performed on the second urine of the day collected in a clean plastic container after a two day abstinence from all supplements including mineral supplements. Tap water is to be avoided for the 36 hours prior to the test, using purified or reverse osmosis water, but no distilled water.
